Let's give a warm Syracuse welcome to IBEW Local 97 into the UCOMM Media Group family! Local 97 represents over 4,700 workers at power plants and utilities across Upstate New York. IBEW 97's main goals are to organize electrical workers, assist each other in raising their quality of living, and elevate the moral, intellectual, and social conditions of their members and their families. "We are proud to have been retained by this client for personal and professional reasons," UCOMM's Kris LaGrange said. "Born and raised in the city of Syracuse, growing up as a kid in a working class town, one of the best jobs I remember my parents talk about was in Local 97 working at [then] NiMo, which is now National Grid. So it's like going home when I visit Local 97 in upstate New York. "Ted Skerpon is a likable and direct labor leader," Kris LaGrange added, "and I'm sure we're going to work well together." As always, UCOMM will be creating an easy to navigate website compatible with all types of devices, including tablets and smartphones. In order to enhance external and internal communications for the union, UCOMM will also set up a monthly e-newsletter, text messaging alerts, photo and video libraries, as well as social networks and standard constant communications services. We're looking forward to a successful partnership with yet another IBEW Local.
