IBEW 1249 becomes a client
UCOMM Communications is happy to announce that Local 1249 of the IBEW has joined the team. Local 1249, centralized in Syracuse, has approximately 2,000 members across the Empire State. Local 1249 provides linemen and women contractors to almost every utility in New York, which makes their role and services vital, not just for power restoration after a storm but also maintenance on our state's fragile transmission infrastructure. "This local has many challenges, on top of being spread out all across New York from Albany to the Hudson Valley, Buffalo, Syracuse, and the Adirondacks.
Their members are constantly on the move, often spending days if not weeks away from their homes and their families," says UCOMM founder Kris LaGrange. "So setting them up with a mobile communications platform gives their leadership the communications tools that they need to succeed." UCOMM will be setting up Local 1249 with the local union package, which includes a mobile-friendly website, blast text messaging, professional emails, and advertising and marketing consultation.
Local 1249 has sponsored UCOMM Radio for the past 3 years and is the 12th IBEW local to retain UCOMM Communications. "I have known these guys for years and really respect their work," added LaGrange. "And what I love most about them, is not just the fact that their former business manager is a Packers fan like I am, but 60% of their membership is under the age of 40. It's a young workforce, and they work extremely hard, so it's a good fit." We're happy to have you on board, Local 1249!
