UCOMM Welcomes the Amityville Teachers Association
The UCOMM Media Group is excited to welcome the Amityville Teachers Association (ATA) to our growing list of union clients who are education professionals. Amityville Teachers are led by Bob Claps, the Public Outreach Chair of UCOMM client Long Island Teachers. “We work closely with Bob all the time for Long Island Teachers, so assisting Bob in improving his Local Unions internal communication needs was an easy endeavor,” says Kris LaGrange. Amityville got the works, from a new state of the art mobile friendly website, text messaging and a colorful e-newsletter they branded as “The Scribe.” UCOMM was able to build their image library quickly to get them set up in no time.
The ATA had traditionally emailed out The Scribe e-newsletter on their own, but it lacked color, graphics and imagery. UCOMM’ industry leading websites and email newsletters are some of the best in organized labor. Working with the ATA to improve the quality and efficiency of their internal communications took immediate priority.
UCOMM prides itself in being retained by unions, federations and labor councils that already have communications structures in place. We strive to take a work load off of union leaders who wear many hats. When the ATA needs an email out, it gets out within hours. Interest stories and photos pad the union’s most immediate message, making the email more appealing to a larger rank and file audience. Plus AmityvlleTeachers.org is an incredibly attractive website; showcasing the members at work as well stories of their constant community service activities. The ATA is very active all-year round. “They do big work for a tiny union.”
“We cultivate our clients traditions, like the ATA’s Scribe, and give it a more modern look - and since we work with Bob already with Long Island Teachers, we knew we could provide good service at an affordable rate.” UCOMM was able to retain, take shots, do emails and texts and build a website within few short months. “Plus, it’s nice to hear when our clients say you’re so easy to work with. That means a lot, that’s why we’re here – to help you get the job done,” adds Kris LaGrange.
The Amityville Teachers Association is a fine addition to the UCOMM Media Group family.
